A better Qlik Sense admin experience

Check out these Butler Control-Q features

butler control-q-tree-task-table%203

Reload task tree views for Qlik Sense!
Much like what’s available in QlikView, Butler Control-Q visually shows how tasks are connected.

- Need to start 10 tasks? Simple - just select them and click Start.
- Want to export all task info to a CSV file? Done.
- Interested in task duration? Just enable that table column.

bcq_network_1%20

While tree views are nice, network views are awesome.
Once you have hundreds of tasks it will be hard to remember which task does what.
The network view solves this by providing a zoomable network chart of all reload tasks.

bcq_network_3_clustering

The network view provides a top-down, holistic perspective on reload chains, but can become cluttered when you have lots of reload tasks.

Clustering tasks  into groups is an effective way of showing the main reload chains in your Sense environment, or identify loops in your ETL flows.

Our Story

Ptarmigan Labs is the home of SenseOps.

The idea behind SenseOps is simple:
Let’s use established, battle proven concepts from the wider software community also with Qlik Sense.
The result is the Butler family of (mostly) open source tools, ranging from operations monitoring (Butler SOS), alerting/key-value store/MQTT/… offered by the original Butler, a strong authentication framework in the form of Butler Auth - and more.

The Butler family now has a new member: Control-Q.
The idea is simply to make life of Sense admins and developers easier. Give it a try - the 14 day, fully featured free trial version is available for download here.

The person behind the company is Göran Sander, a programmer since decades, 5 times Qlik Luminary and 10 years at Spotify.

Oh - you’re wondering about the mountains and birds (yeah - ptarmigan is a bird!)?
Good question.
Well, I just happen to really like mountains in all shapes and forms, and of course also the animals living there.
Ptarmigans included.
